D.R. Horton, the biggest homebuilder in the U.S. is growing. The company recently announced the acquisition of Wilson Parker Homes, which has operations in Atlanta and Augusta, Georgia; Raleigh, North Carolina; Columbia, South Carolina and Phoenix, Arizona. The deal added 490 homes and 390 lots and an additional 300 homes under contract to D.R. Horton’s portfolio. The builder paid approximately $90 million for the deal.
In metro Phoenix, D.R. Horton currently has five communities and Wilson Parker Homes has three. Housing prices for the two builders range from the high $100s to the mid $400s. Communities span the Valley from east to west, depending on the community location, lot size and floor plans.
